Effort has also been taken to involve inputs of Solar Passive Architecture, probably the first time for any Government establishment in the state to arrive at an alternative technology for “ comfort conditions “, a must for peak performance in climatically sensitive region without applying to the highly expensive and Power dependant conventional systems like air conditioning. The building has a protective envelope including composite walls outside; rat trap bond internally; filler slabs on top floors protected by brick bat coba + hollow clay tiles / broken china; fenestration protection with one way reflective glass. The building has been lowered along landscaped berms with a water body on Southwest orientation to enhance evaporative cooling.
