Large villages pose special challenge and to develop them as potential growth centres is the need of the hour. Support will be extended to these potential growth centres to develop a land use plan and eco development plan for systematic and eco-friendly growth.

Fund allocation of the programme is unique as elaborated hereunder.

Fund allocation: Fund allocation will be based on two criteria viz population and performance. Performance of the participating Gram Panchayats will be assessed periodically in terms of sustainability of plantation initiative, recovery of taxes, use of un-conventional energy resource, sanitation coverage including performance in toilet coverage, waste water and solid waste management etc. Allocation of resources will be linked to the objectively verifiable performance of a Gram Panchayat. Incremental targets are set to ensure as incentive for improving performance.

Success of the programme will depend on the capacity building support and IEC support. At district and block level workshop and training programs were organised by Zilla Parishad and Block Panchayat from the State level, under the guidance of Hon. Shri Jayant Patil, Minister Rural Development orientation training programme for PRI member are being organised at subdivision level.
