Abstract: Building and Construction has profound impact on environment. World wide about half of natural resource consumption and about 40% of energy consumption and 30-40% GHG emissions are attributed to build environment. According to UNEP no other sector has high potential for drastic GHG emission reduction. Green building is the practice of creating structures and using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout life-cycle of a building from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and deconstruction. Several framework/ systems are created to help reduce environmental impacts by assessing the life cycle of building products.
